Ben Stein: Tasteless

Have you heard of Ben Stein's latest farce? It's a movie called EXPELLED: No Intelligence Allowed, and is billed as a response to the 'suppression' that Intelligent Design has experienced. Well, the film was supposed to open on February 12 - Darwin's Birthday. I was looking forward to viewing and reviewing it while I was on my outpatient medicine rotation (more time to myself = more blogging... Hi Dr. Novan!) but now they've up and changed the opening date to April 18. I'll be on surgery then!

Leave it to the movie's proponents to point out that this moves the opening from Darwin's birthday to the day he died (April 19). And some of them revel in this decision!

Bad form, guys. Tasteless.

Mr. Stein and others that worked with Nixon.

Then there's moi’s, officially ignored, film/research
into the origin of Christendom.

Since the film is
the awful facts it must be disregarded by those that tout
the beautiful untruths.

The Religious Authorities, and those that GAIN from there being religions [e.g., People in the “Business” of Atheism], always say NOT to view that which they DO want you to see and avert their eyes, and remain quite silent, about that which they hope you will not chance upon.

I don't think you can blame Mr. Stein for stupid and tasteless comments made at Uncommon Descent.

I'm interested in what Ben and the others have to say in the film. The fact that there's such an uproar about the film makes me even more interested... The uproar, by the way, started before the film even finished filming.

I haven't seen anything official on why the release date was postponed, but it seems a bit of a stretch that the producers, who must need to generating an income from the film, postpone a release date simply because it's near the anniversary of Darwin's death.
