Hit the Wall
These days, there's a new one around every corner. Just when you get the hang of something, bam, there's another one to climb. Studying, scheduling classes, seeing patients, sleeping. There's always a new challenge. If you have any tips on that last one, I am accepting suggestions.
Hope for Pandora is a place for a conversation about science and medicine. This site is one attempt to build a dialogue about science, medicine and society. You'll also find plenty of vignettes about my experiences in graduate school and as a medical student en route to becoming an academic emergency physician. I welcome and appreciate comments.

I'm an emergency medicine resident at Yale-New Haven Hospital. My academic interests include medical humanities and the social and political influences on science and medicine. At home, I like to garden and tackle do-it-yourself projects.
